I would call the radio stations myself with this, but I end up swearing and getting hung up on. So anyone out there, feel free to use it, but give the Grrrl some props! The next time the DSM starts ripping on Matt Millen call up and ask -
"So how are YOUR fantasy teams doing?, what's YOUR f'in excuse you hypocritical jackass?"
And just to drive the point home, put on your best snide, interviewing voice and say with incredulity and derogatorially (did I just make a word up?) say -
"You drafted L. Johnson/S. Alexander with your 1st pick INSTEAD of W. McGahee/M. Barber? You idiot!"
Seriously! Here we all are with our Fantasy Football Leagues. After months of research, us General Managers finally meet on draft day with pages of stats, years of actual NFL history, we know if they are in a contract year, we know if they are malcontents, we know what they did in their offseason, we KNOW everything about all these proven NFL stars!! And yet WE can't draft playoff contenders with only 10 teams. Imagine if you had freaking 32 teams in your fantasy League!!
So would everyone in the DSM and all you idiotic bobble heads out there just GIVE IT UP ALREADY!!! The next time you want to rip on, or carry your stupid Fire Millen signs, look in the mirror first and ask what the imaginary fans of your fantasy league would be saying about you and your choices right now!!!
By the way, my FF team is currently 4-3 (tied for first) thanks to the freaking waiver wire!!

I am sooooo sick of the DSM
and their bobble head
fans!!! So this Issue is for you. I understand that the DSM NEED to create controversy, or well, they wouldn't have jobs now - would they? Understand it? Yes. Like it? No!! I can't even listen to the radio anymore because the hypocrisy and repetition of both the hosts & the bobble heads, frankly, pisses me off!
So for the few fans out here who can 1) Think for themselves and 2)Have enough 'balls' to NOT be bullied, I'd like to say, YOU'RE A BUNCH OF DROOLING IDIOTS! Most of you probably weren't good enough to make your high school football team let alone start. I'm sure picking on the Lions (players, staff, owners) is the lingering stench of jealousy stemming from your high school inferiority complex that's been festering for 20 years. GET OVER IT!!
I wouldn't dare put words in the player's, staff's, owner's mouths... But for those of you thinking it, there... I just said. Now that I've lowered myself to their level, let me try to climb out of the muck and throw in what I'm so sick of!
- I've noticed something this year, after the Lion's win AND since they've had a WINNING record, all you hear on the radio stations is how bad the Tigers suck! Imagine THAT!! When the Lion's lose, all you hear on the stations is every detail in which each person affiliated with the Lion's Sucks!
- As soon as anyone calls and has even a shred of something positive to say, they are mocked, offered the cornbread, hung up on and then all the callers after that, call to mock the previous caller.
- The Fords, Millen, Marinelli and Martz do NOT WANT to lose... gawd, statements spewing from your mouths suggesting otherwise is sooooo moronic!
- The only people that want to perpetuate the losing is the DSM and the miserable 'fans' out there, whose only achievement in life is to be known by their nicknames on sports talk radio. Quit trying draining mine, Marinelli's, Kitna's, Roy's, and Lion's rookies HALF FULL cups! You leeches.
- Case in point. We went to the Lion's charity luncheon last year and sat at a table with a rookie linebacker. EVERYONE at the table went on and on ad nauseam about how horrible the Lion's organization was, 'there must be a Lion's curse', 'hopefully you'll get out of here and be able to play on a real team'... I'm not kidding!! geezus And you all wonder WHY players don't seem to be motivated to play here?
- Now that Calvin 'Megatron' hasn't turned out to be a bust. I actually heard one host saying that the 1st round draft pick didn't matter and that the Lion's organization couldn't be taken seriously until they had a 4th round draft pick emerge as a superstar... WHAT?!?! hahahaha... I'm NOT kidding... and everyone called up agreeing... hahahahahaha
- All I've heard at the games and on the radio is how Kitna will never take the team anywhere, and how bad he sucks. As a matter of fact, one of the morons on the radio, explained how it was yet another example of Millen's ineptitude. According to this genius, we should be in our 2nd year with a young QB which means Matt Leinert would now be our 'on IR for the rest of the season' QB. Brilliant... you moron! So anyway... when Kitna left the Minnesota game injured, all of a sudden everyone is freaked out because we can't win without Kitna...ARGH.. Hypocrites!
- I've seen all of the DSM's pictures, and you're no Jon Kitna! I'd pay money to see any of you try to quarterback this team... And even though I've said it before, I'll say it again... Trent Dilfer HAS a Superbowl ring, Dan Marino does NOT have a Superbowl ring, so give up the 'we can't win with Kitna' bullshit already!
- Give up on the past draft picks talk... It's BORING!!
- Give up on the 'Fire Millen' talk already... It's soooo 2005!!
- No one OWES any of you interviews, and why in the hell would anyone in their right minds actually WANT to be interviewed by any of you. Although, you all sure do SUCK UP nicely when it does happen.
I could go on and on, (and probably will) but it's time for bed. I guess I should at least thank the DSM and bobble heads for at least following the adage... "If you don't have anything bad to say, then don't say anything at all"
And following in that tradition... Since you're asking for new titles for your post Lions show, I suggest... The fat, old, stupid guy's chance for revenge bitch session. Okay so it's a little too long, hmmm, how about... Yellow-bellied Abominable Washout of Men, hmmm, still a little long but hey you could shorten it to YAWN...
DIGG this post? Then click!
... As Kitna predicted!! So, I've been meaning to write after each game, but I've been busy dammit! So instead of my usual witty posts after each game, I have decided to do an issue on a few different things that have really been bothering me this year, and a very special open letter to William Clay Ford and/or Jr.
So what am I having issues with, you ask?
- The DSM (Detroit Sports Media) (for lack of a better categorical name); Most of the guys on the radio, a LOT of the sporting news 'reporters', and some of the t.v. guys.
- The Fans: DSM started bullying any fan that showed any optimism towards the Lions as partakers of 'cornbread' back when Joey Harrington was here, and they carry it on to this day. So I'm officially christening all the fans that are puppets for the DSM... Bobbleheads. You KNOW who you are!
- Detroit's Ford Field vs. Pontiac's The Silverdome
- William Clay Ford and William Clay Ford Jr. - NOT for what you may think.
And other issues that fall into the categories above, like the Lions themselves along with the coaching staff and... of course, Matt Millen, and some fantasy football just for shits & giggles & tv breaking.
DIGG this post? Then click!
Yea, it's JUST the pre-season, but I'm telling you all ... This is the year, play-offs for sure!
Millen finally went with gut-instincts, hired an awesome coach and took the best player in the draft (CJ of course) regardless of the heat he was going to get from idiot sports writers and the Detroit media in general.
You just wait and see all you haters!!
Go LIONS!!!
Shaun Rogers 'groped' a STRIPPER? What the hell is the Big Deal?!!
Is this a joke?? Investigated for groping a freakin' STRIPPER? Seriously??!! Hah, what a bunch of bullshit!
Hey Michael Rosenberg... STRIPPERS GET PAID TO GET GROPED!!
Hey Drew, "...Proper decorum has long since died in sports..."?? SHE WAS A STRIPPER!!
I met Shaun, I have a picture of us, doing the ole' pal arms around each other to fit in the picture deal (that he was humble enough to pose for, by the way). And guess what he displayed proper decorum and didn't come close to treating me inappropriately (Hell, if he would've grabbed my ass, I probably would have asked him to sign it) nor do I think 'groping' a stripper should result in a police call/investigation, let alone anything resembling an arrest!! OMG! She was a freakin' stripper in a not-so-great-section of Detroit. Just to reiterate, that's WHAT STRIPPERS GET PAID FOR!!
He showed enough decorum not to pistol-whip her ass (haha jk) when he found out what the opportunistic-looking for an easy payday-20 year old STRIPPER was accusing him of. SHE should be charged for false arrest, or libel, or slander or one of those 'you thievin' lyin' lazy, nice try but you ain't getting my money' countersuit's!!
For all you
Now back to the victim - Shaun Rogers. As a female who has been groped by the occasional drunk guy in clubs/Lion's games/Tiger's games/crowded elevators, etc... and although I was NOT happy about it, I sure as hell didn't f'ing press charges!!! Maybe the next time it happens I should make them show me their tax returns, and if it's worth it maybe I will press charges. But then again I work for a living, hmmm, maybe I should sue the auto industry the next time the damn server goes down and I lose all my work! Same difference in my mind.
I charge the CHICK WHO GETS PAID TO GET GROPED for doing a serious disservice to females WHO DON'T GET PAID TO GET GROPED and who have an actual claim of assault that gets diminished because of people like these strippers. You want Shaun Rogers to show some freakin' decorum?? Well, I guess we sure as hell can't ask certain types of females to show decorum and keep their f'ing clothes on, cuz' then sports columnists wouldn't have anywhere to hang out anymore!! oops.. Now back to the victim-Shaun Rogers.
You sports columnists sit there and bitch & moan about Shaun Rogers not granting any interviews?? Hah, is it any wonder why?? He's a defensive lineman, NOT a wide receiver, you jackass Rosenberg! He's supposed to be big, Mike Williams wasn't supposed to be a big, fat, sloppy slow wide receiver! So everyone got on Roger's ass about being overweight so he took some stupid freaking diet pills... THAT is the WORST you can say about him??
Jeezzzuss! Let's open all of your medicine cabinets! Hypocrites! Marinelli say's to watch the tape Rosenberg? And what do you talk about? Do you mention Rogers' pro bowl's? His dominance on the defensive side of the ball? Being double-teamed every single damn game and STILL blocking field goals! And Rosenberg has the NERVE to call Rogers selfish and state that the Lion's can't build a team around him?? Dre Bly was better for the team?? ARE YOU SERIOUS??! Have you ever EVEN watched the Lions the past few years?? Moron!
Does the Detroit Free Press Editor even read the crap you & Sharp write? Neither one of you know shit about football!! Speaking of ho's, I wonder how many free dinners/drinks/tickets you've pimped yourselves out for? Perhaps that's where the venom against Rogers is coming from, you both feel for the stripper because, well... we know how you make your money also.
Let's hope Shaun doesn't go down on this bullshit, politically 'correct' bullshit charge and media circus. But y'know what? You want to know why he has attitude? Try reading your b.s. stories back to yourself before you hit the submit button. As a matter of fact, Rogers is showing great decorum in NOT talking to the media.
And to the Detroit prosecutor/police department... Please keep in mind that the bar owner didn't even know there was a 'problem', and he was quoted as saying that he didn't believe the stripper who had just started there a few months ago. Also, please ask all those men that have groped that stripper (either for cash or for free) in the past to come forward, to show her for the opportunist that she is and then charge her scheming ass, so that REAL assault victims are not dismissed due to women like the STRIPPER.
Well, most of them anyway. We'll excuse Terry Foster and Michael Rosenberg. Drew Sharp and (suprisingly) Mitch Albom have officially lost their minds and their credibility for their Calvin Johnson 'welcome to Detroit bashing'. Let me say Calvin, the fans pay player salaries with our season tickets, Shaun Rogers jerseys, etc... and the fans welcome you with open arms, so please refrain from reading sports columns.
We drafted THE best player in the draft! How in the hell is that wrong in any sense of the word?! Where in the hell is the logic in saying we should take the BEST player in the draft & use him as trade bait for extra picks?! Let's think this theory through people. Let's give Sharp the benefit of the doubt and say we would get two 2nd round draft picks in exchange for Calvin Johnson, or trade picks with Tampa, get the 4th pick and an extra 2nd round pick.
First we must use the logic dictated to the Calvin Johnson pick. Namely that no one knows if he'll be a bust. No one knows if the money will now make him follow the path of Ricky Williams. Bottom line... No one knows what will happen once CJ plays in the pro's. I'm okay with, and agree with that.
So we take Calvin, trade him away, and then take WHO exactly?!! You sports 'writers' love to point out the obvious by saying that the Lions have a lot of holes to fill. Calvin is a great receiver, but he can't 'catch, block and throw' the ball? No shit! Why don't you both go out on a limb and name names. But of course you can't do that, your job is to create controversy and sell papers. Controversy- mission accomplished! Paper sales- let's hope that drops!
Please enlighten me as to WHO in the 2nd round WOULD be able to catch, block and throw the ball, cuz' I sure in the hell don't know who that was! Now remember, in scenario one we give Calvin up for extra 2nd round picks. So now we have two second round picks that might turn out to be total busts.
Or.. we let Tampa Bay take CJ and we take Gaines Adams, plus some unknown 2nd round pick. What guarantee is there that Gaines is going to be able to sack, intercept and return the ball for touchdowns? What guarantee is there that Gaines and the other dude aren't going to let the fame & money get to their head?
What guarantee? NONE. Both your theories are flawed, and you're both chicken-shits for not naming names. And you both suck for already putting CJ on the defensive. And in defense of Matt Millen... I want to remind ALL of you that I saw/heard all your asses cheering when Harrington, Rogers & Mike Williams were drafted. Easy to hold others up to higher standards than yourselves, you bunch of hypocrites!
Go Lions! Welcome to Detroit Calvin, remember that the fans are very happy that you're here. I trust Marinelli to take us to a championship- with Character!! Look it up Drew.
Dear MnMnM: Please draft Calvin Johnson (if Al Davis doesn't pull an Al Davis and draft him 1st) and KEEP HIM!
Holy shit, I never thought this day would come and I can hardly believe I am actually advocating for an offensive position, let alone a wide receiver - but after seeing him lined up against the other 9 top draft picks (at first glance I assumed he was the DE) and reading about Calvin Johnson's athletic ability, intelligence & character, it is simply impossible to NOT draft him 2nd. Johnson has hit the NFL Wide Reciever genepool jackpot!! I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Davis took him on principle alone. Hell, he might just take him and throw him in a cryogenically glass enclosed case and put him in his office just to admire every day.
From all accounts Johnson is an anomaly, a 'once in a decade' player. Put him on the other side of Roy, make Furrey the 3rd and get rid of Mike Williams (should've drafted Merriman like I told you too, dammit!). Kitna with Martz threw up great numbers last year and having two great targets to throw to will open up the running game!
Trading down to get extra picks in the 2nd round like a lot of people want the Lions to do is akin (IMO) to giving up filet mignon because you can get a ribeye AND a strip steak. Hmmm, probably a bad analogy, I can see all you guys thinking, 'Exactly!' while drooling from the mouth. The POINT is, you don't give up excellence for extra helpings of mediocrity. Not only that, but you have a limited roster. What the hell good is 30 extra picks going to do?
Of course, NONE of us KNOW which of these guys are actually going to pan out in the NFL - INCLUDING MILLEN! All anyone can go by is what we know today, and what is known is that Calvin Johnson is THE top rated draft pick and that the Lions are damned if they do, damned if they don't and I bet 30 other NFL teams are hoping they don't.
Do the Lions need other positions filled? Of course, although I think Marinelli did a GREAT job with free agency...
OH! And while I'm on the subject and before I forget... nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah...hey hey hey.. GOODBYE - You Cheerleadin', Pile'er On'ner, Whoops there goes another touchdown pass that got by me, Dre Bly!
.... enough of a good job, as a matter of fact, to be able to resist the temptation of drafting Thomas or Adams. Plus we still have all our other rounds to draft guys in.
My draft requests:
- Calvin Johnson and KEEP him!
- Lance Briggs! Maybe for a 2nd & 5th round pick or something?
- If not Briggs, then a new linebacker instead of Lehman. Teddy, sorry bud, but you haven't done shit... even when you were healthy for that one game 2 years ago...
- Looks like the corners this year are nothing special, but when a great one comes along, snap his ass up and bring him to Detroit. As requested earlier, preferably a corner that is taller than 6"1' - IF they exist, we'll probably find Bigfoot first.
- Someone to help out Shaun Rogers, so he can lose his big baby moniker for bitching about having to carry the team every year!
- You know what else would be really nice? A tight end that can freakin' catch the freakin' ball, especially now that Cory is gone (I know he wasn't a TE)... Wasn't too happy about that one by the way!
- And some more guys that can help to keep our QB from getting turf-helmet. Seriously, with the numbers that the O put up last year, they'd be astronomical if our QB actually had 2 seconds to think before getting pounded to the ground!
By the way if you guys draft a QB in the first round, I'll be the first one to rush Ford Field with a bright orange Fire Millen sign. I'm not kidding Matt, you'll be on your own for sure then, so just Don't Do It! If you get tempted repeat this mantra, "Trent Dilfer has a SB ring, Dan Marino doesn't"
One final reminder Matt... The media guys are NOT your friend! You listened to them when you drafted Harrington, Rogers & Mike Williams and look where that got you! If you give up Calvin for other draft picks, it will be one of those sports moments that will haunt you the rest of your life! Just like there is no guarantee that Calvin will pan out, there isn't a guarantee that either of the two guys you pick instead of him will. And if you're going to go down, at least go down following your gut instead of the bobble heads!
Whew, Raiders take JaMarcus Russell. Thank gawd they did the smart thing for once...muahahahahaha
Now let's pray the Lions don't F*ck this up! The espn guru's seem to think that with 8 minutes still left, the Lions are taking CJ for sure. Of course now they're talking about the 'trade' with Tampa Bay.
The Lions pick Calvin Johnson!! Wahoo! The fans at Ford Field - INCLUDING Roary are cheering their asses off. Remember that all of you! Now let's just hope we keep him!
Now, will Cleveland take the hometown hero? Brady Quinn is looking like the cat that just ate the canary and quite happy about it. If Cleveland doesn't take Quinn, it's going to be a bit painful to see the kid's face drop! Cleveland takes... Joe Thomas! Wo! The Browns fans start chanting 'Cleveland SUCKS!' LMAO!! Quinn is smiling like he doesn't care. Well Brady, consider yourself lucky!
To all the bobble-heads out there that want Millen fired BECAUSE of his past draft picks, this one's dedicated to you.
Before attempting yet again to explain things logically, I am going to record the following Lion's 1st round draft picks for posterity:
- Lions Grrrl (the one you should hire Millen!)- Take Calvin & Keep him!
- Sexy Dago Dog-Either trade the pick for more picks or take Calvin & trade him.
- FU-Either trade the pick for more picks or take Calvin & trade him.
- Bucknuts Deepfall-Either trade the pick for more picks or take Calvin & trade him.
- Booeys-Either trade the pick for more picks or take Calvin & trade him.
- A Lions Fan-Take Calvin & Keep him!
- Syl-Leaning toward take Calvin & keep him.
- Feliks the lion-Adrian Peterson
- Rolling Rocks-Gaines
- Every 'expert' in USA Today except Rang (Brady) & Leahy (Gaines)-Calvin Johnson
- Drew Sharp of Detroit Free Press-Calvin as a bargaining chip
- Michael Rosenberg of Detroit Free Press-Calvin, keep him
- Nick Cotsonika of Detroit Free Press-Calvin as leverage, worst case keep him.
- I couldn't get the stupid Detroit News site up with all the stupid pop up ads-bastards!
- Pat Caputo of WXYT sports radio- "Obviously they should trade the pick"or take Calvin
- Terry Foster of WXYT sports radio-Take Calvin & keep him
- Tom Kowalski of 1130 'Da Fan'- Trade down or Gaines
Now then using 16 total (because I'm too lazy to count all the USA Today 'experts', that makes 5 that think the Lions should take Calvin Johnson and keep his ass here.
Why I can't stand Peyton Manning & hope Urlacher kicks his Ass
I want Da Bears to kick Indy's Ass tonight. And ya' know it isn't so much that I want the Bears to win or the Colts to lose. I want Peyton Manning to lose, so you can add me to the 'hate 'im' in the love him or hate him column. As it seems that even Time Magazine ran an article on this phenomena.
Although, I love Urlacher
and would love for him to win the Superbowl because he has earned it and for his passion and knowledge of the game; honestly, the idea of Chicago having bragging rights makes me nauseous! But....I would much rather have any team win the Superbowl rather than giving Peyton the satisfaction.
I love the fact that he has never won, and upon sharing my view that Peyton is way overrated with my mostly male co-workers, I come to find that I am definitely in the minority. Surprise, surprise... But I take that as a compliment because SOME of have to be able to think for ourselves!
I can't speak for the rest of the 'Peyton's Overrated' subscribers, but I bet that most of us loved Underdog as kids. We champion the long shot, the hard worker, the poor kid that had to fight his way to the top. Not only do we champion them, but we all want to see that poor kid yank the silver football out of Peyton's overrated hands!! And cheer with glee when he sits there with a dumbfounded look, muttering, 'but I'm SUPPOSED to win, I'm the chosen one, I'm the golden-boy didn't you know that Brian?'. Oh and let's not forget how Peyton displayed his stellar leadership after the Steelers beat them last year! When questioned about why they lost, good ole Peyton took one for the team and replied that HE (the golden-boy) didn't get the protection that Roethlesberger (or however you spell it) got. pfft. Hey Peyton, you wanna see protection, c'mon over to the Lions for a season, you damn pansy!
Now when I've shared my opinion, I ALWAYS hear... "OVERRATED? You think Peyton's overrated? That's why girls shouldn't watch football, are you smoking crack or something? What about Kitna, you think he's good?"
My simple and logical response. Switch Kitna and Manning last year. Do you think Peyton would be going to the Superbowl with the Lions??!! Not that I'm a big fan of Kitna's, but I think he'd have a better chance of making it to SBXLI with the Colts.
Hell, like I've been screaming for the past 3 years, Freaking Trent Dilfer has a freaking Superbowl ring. And he SUCKED! I remember watching Tampa play the Lions all those years and how horrible he was, it was usually the only team we could beat! (listen up Lions fans) it's not all about the QB, it's about the team and ask Trent about Ray Lewis and how important Defense is, along with his offensive line.
Which brings me back to the point at hand, Peyton Manning getting credit for everything from the Colts being a contender every year, to the commercials that are so popular. I can't stand seeing Peyton Manning's face on all those commercials. Are they funny? Yes, but they were funnier with Brett Favre (Monday morning quarterbacking, after the guy's groceries fall through his bag, "You should'a double bagged that, hehehehe" and they would be just as funny with Brian Urlacher. Come to think of it they would be even funnier with Jerry Rice, since he's funny and lovable to look at no matter what he's doing, especially dancing!! (Jerry you got robbed! sniff).
The only good thing about Peyton winning would be (as the Time article points out) that the onslaught of, 'Will this be Peyton's year' will finally, hopefully go away. Or better yet, Peyton will lose and John Madden will put him on the cover of Madden NFL - heh - Stick the ole' Madden curse on him and we won't have to hear about him anymore, that would be perfect!
There, that felt good! Boy, it's been a while! I guess the bad season coupled with my first year of playing in a fantasy football league and trying to expand my digital horizons explains my lack of posts. OH! And let's not forget that I was in an exhaustive, nearly catatonic state for a while with all the personal and work stressors, but enough about what ails me and on to what ails the Detroit Lions.
It's the DAMN MEDIA!! Maybe not directly and of course we shouldn't trounce on our right to freedom of speech, so the blame also lies with whoever it is in the Lion's Organization that is basing their decisions on the DAMN Media!
I used to love listening to the radio shows after the Lions games because listening to the hosts lose it, somehow made me feel calmer. But now I realize that most of the hosts and most of the fans are a bunch of hypocrites, and hypocrites really irk me!!
The next week they are calling for the firing of Marinelli because he made them fly on a Friday for a Saturday game at Oakland - or something like that. 'What a brute Marinelli is, how dare he make those players suffer like that' comments were made by them ad nauseum! And they wonder why the players are such crybabies. Marinelli's reason? He wanted to see who would show up to play, who had the balls (so to speak) to suck it up and win.
Seriously! I mean seriously, give me a break, I've flown cross-country and have somehow managed to get my ass out and party all night, along with the next week day and night. pfft!
It doesn't just end there, I should actually start making a list and call them all out! Everyone is now bashing Martz, along with Marinelli and Millen. It's really pathetic, but fans need to remember that the talk show hosts are the ones CREATING the controversy... IT'S THEIR JOB! That's what they get paid to do, so the fans need to think for themselves and quit getting caught up in the hype.
No team is built up overnight, except for the NawLeans Saints of course, but they had over 50 new players on the team. Maybe Marinelli should do the same and wipe out whoever it is on that team that is bringing the rest of the crybabies out and making everyone a malcontent, even if it means I need to buy a new jersey...sigh!!
I believe in Marinelli and Martz and we as fans owe them a chance to build their team! Millen DID hire the right guys this time by following his gut instincts instead of listening to whoever it is that's been giving him the crap advice (which you all have loved at the time... damn hypocrites-jumping up and down cheering when they drafted Mike Williams last year at Shields Pizza... you know who you are).
Boy, I'm feeling the honolulu blue ROARing (heh) through my veins again, and I'll update more often.
DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!
Well the Lions lost but more importantly me and Stefani made the Jumbotron TWICE!!
OH, but anyway, about the game....What the hell happened to our offense... Martz?!?!?!!! I WANT to know who's at fault dammit!
To answer you smartasses out there: Yes, I was at the game, but well for any of you that have actually gone to an NFL or college game you know that there a quite a lot of distractions - not to mention all the tailgating (aka drinking & eating until your jeans are suddenly a size smaller along with your brain cells) AND we don't get all the instant replays at Ford Field - that still PISSES me off. PLUS...
Being the defensive minded gal I am and because I actually went to one of the tryout days for the professional female football team, I know enough about the offense, to know that I don't know enough about offense!
So... 1)Was Martz calling the wrong plays? 2)Did Kitna not throw where he was supposed to or 3)Were the wide receivers not where they were supposed to be?? The guy that sits a couple of seats down from me is always right on the ball (thank gawd). He always knows the penalty that will be called before anyone else and when Furrey made that catch everyone was standing & cheering about, he was bitching because apparently Roy was wide open. He also pointed my direction to the Jumbotron to show that Roy was bitching Kitna out. Well whatever the damn problem is with the offense.... FIX IT MARTZ, you offensive guru and fix it fast!!!
I must admit that I LOVED the game, the defense ROCKED, my boy Shaun Rogers kicked some ASS!!! And thanks to him blocking the field goal the first time, I (Stef too) was on the Jumbotron, until the dumb pepsi corporate seat guys that don't even LIKE the Lions practically tackled us to get on screen - Losers!! ... But back to the winners.. Way to go Shaun Baby!!!! Love ya' - Oh and thanks for letting me interrupt your lunch to take a picture with me. Even though we had to wait for the dumbass to figure out how to use a camera. You ROCK Shaun.
By the way you heard it here first... The Detroit Lions are winning the NFC North!! We are going to kick Grossmans ass right out of the game next week, which will have the double bonus of starting Griese who just so happens to be on my Demoliton Dollz Fantasy Team. My first (and last) year doing a Fantasy Football team. What a PAIN in the ASS - more on that to come.OBSERVATIONS & NOTABLES:
Eastern Market defintely is the Tailgate party we were missing the past couple of years, we finally parked there, what a freaking blast!!! We also got to ride a shuttle bus again. Shuttle busses are great fun and our bus driver rocked, she was cutting all you people stuck in traffic off with the cops help, nyah nyah. We were all cheering her on!
Another bonus is our new buds... D. BROWN! D. BROWN! D. BROWN! You're cool even with your bedazzled Emmitt Smith Jersey & thanks for the shots bud; MOOSE!!!!! I'll knock you down before the season's over, but it was fun bouncing off you!; PEPE, we really didn't see your peepee, but you should be a bit more careful about the location you choose next time! NEW YORK, I think you might be a bit too normal to hang around these guys (maybe some more Jaeger next time), so that's why I'm calling you New York, and I still want my hotel and club info!
We had a heartwarming return to our seats with the other regulars. Hugs & kisses all around. Awwwwwwwwww. I really have to get your guy's names!!
Well, I finally found out that the seats in front of us are corporate seats that Pepsi owns. Hey Pepsi, you have crappy football fan employees!! You should give a f'ing football quiz to the people you give them to, because of all the people that have sat there over the past years, the one guy below & to my left was the ONLY actual football fan I've seen there. I will never drink Pepsi again! OH and by the way they were all (okay most of them) very drunk & very obnoxious!
So Shaun Baby, blocked a field goal, and for all of you that know me and/or have been reading my blogs y'all know I just love big baby and finally got his jersey (special ordered) last year. So after he blocked the field goal, the Jaegermeister kicked into high gear and I was jumping around making muscles, pointing to my jersey and roaring (ROOAAAARRR) heh. When all of a sudden everyone started screaming at me and pointing at the Jumbotron and there I was with Stefani!! Until the ugly, dumbass, drunk Pepsi guy stuck his face in. But it was fun, and just to clarify....
The Jumbotron cut me off so you couldn't see my jersey. I WAS lifting my jersey so that the crowd could see the 92 for big baby... I WAS NOT planning on flashing the crowd, but I am working on a new tshirt for me & Stef to wear. Maybe I'll even borrow D. Brown's bedazzler...hahahahaha, sorry couldn't resist. I guess we were on the Jumbotron again, but that was after having even more beer so that one is a bit of blur, I think I had my back to the camera that time.
All you beeyatches that are now suddenly wearing Shaun Rogers jerseys, quit f'ing copying, I hate copy cats. Pick your own DAMN player. Go gitchyerself a purty Leinart jersey. F'kn copy cats! Well, if they actually knew something about football it might not be so bad, but these are definitely the brainless, I'm trying to be cool, so I'll copy the cool girl -types.
I had backup from everyone in Sections 140-141 when I got into an argument with an asshole behind me... See my new section: Asshole of the Game below.
The donut won AGAIN!! Woohoo, free donuts for everyone in the lower bowl and once I again I failed to get my free donut- sigh.
ASSHOLE OF the GAME:
To the pathetic asshole about 10 rows behind me and everyone else that has told someone at a fooball game to sit down.... TAKE YOUR LAME, NASTY, SNIVELING GRUMPY ASSES HOME, SIT ON YOUR LAZY BOY AND TORTURE YOUR WIFE/HUSBAND (if you even have one) AND LET THE REST OF US HAVE FUN & CHEER FOR THE DEFENSE YOU DUMBASS! These are the same people that are up and cheering when OUR offense has the ball cuz' they just don't get it! Fck man, and you probably wonder why you don't have any friends!
So overall it was a great day at Ford Field as usual, even though we lost - We SHOULD have beat the Seahawks about 20-6 but the offense just stunk it up as usual. The defense is for real, the only thing we need now Mr. Marinelli is a damn cornerback. Someone ala Woodson in his heydey, hell he's probably better now than any of the guys we have, including our cheerleader Dre Bly.
I am looking forward to winning the NFC this year, and with a few fixes by Martz and a defense that put a good ole' Nugent STANGLEHOLD on Alexander it should be no problem!
We are going to the St. Louis game so hopefully we'll make it to the tv screen again, and I'll be able to add it to my Cleveland Browns checkmark. I'll be the traveling Big Baby cheerleader... lol. I want to go to the Dec. 17th Green Bay game - Is anyone out there planning a trip???
Detroit Draft Day: Lions Picking (OMG).. It's SIMS.. Thank GAWD!
I'm so scared... lmao. Everyone is talking about QB's ... I'm cringing, ready to report.....
OMG here we go.. it is Ernie Simms LINEBACKER!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOFKNHOOOOOOOOOO
The hosts on ESPN; "A little out of control, a little undisciplined" "Hard hitter, have to worry about concussions" I LOVE it! Just how I love my linebackers described. Here is some more info:
And I even love his hair! Ernie Sims on players he emulates: "Derrick Brooks and Ray Lewis are pretty much it. I really like watching LaVar Arrington, too. I like the way he plays. Pretty much, any linebacker that plays with a lot of intensity, and is very aggressive, hustling to the ball a lot. I like watching Brian Urlacher play, too. Those are the type of guys that I love to watch."
What else do we need to know?
Fkn Green Bay! No Hawk for Detroit
So Mariucci got canned and the media & fans that fall under the category of aka 'sheep or lemmings' wailed, (yea, yea I know neither animal wails, but you get my drift). Our new coach... Rod Marinelli and I love him!! He actually confirmed one of my earlier blogs about....
Fkn Raiders!! They took Huff (o crap) Millen don't you dare take fkn Leinart!
... how winning is more than about talent, especially in the NFL, since in my opinion anyone that makes it to the NFL is already in the top 90-95th percentile, so to quote Marinelli (by the way GREAT JOB MILLEN!)
Marinelli said. "Everybody's got talent. The issue is how hard are we willing to play. Fundamentals. Details. And learning to fi nish everything we start as a football team. None of that takes any talent. It's just a collective attitude of men who want to go to work."
The fact the Lions have been among the dregs of the NFL this 21st Century leaves him unfazed.
"You can make this team right now better," Marinelli said, "if you play harder than you've ever played in your life, you understand details, you stay on the details, and you know what to do. You'll start learning to finish every snap, every rep in the weight room, every practice, every detail.
"Those things, you can grow. And if you've NOT done that well enough and you start doing it, you're better. You start improving immediately because we have talent. Talent is not going to be the issue in this league all the time. It's the talent that plays good."
FINALLY! Someone who understands the non-tangibles!!
Harrington is for all intents & purposes gone, due to his own unwillingness to commit, according to Marinelli. And well, Good Luck Joey, may you land somewhere that has a coach that gives you a chance unlike the spineless, 'it's not my fault (pointing fingers) it's Joeys' Mariucci.
The ONLY reason I wanted Joey to stay is; Just to be able to say 'I told you so!'. I truly believe with Marinelli as head coach and now with the St. Louis guy (geez, can't remember his name) as Offensive coordinator we would have gone to the playoffs.
So far so good, I'm planning on going to Miami to volunteer for the 2007 Superbowl so I can watch the Lions win the damn thing!!! I love my rose colored glasses!!
Hi Everyone, sorry for the neglect - I guess all the lunacy surrounding the firing of Mariucci was just too much to deal with. Mob mentality sucks, but it's good for spin doctors I guess.
Admittedly, I haven't been paying too much attention to the off-season.
OH WAIT! I didn't tell y'all that I volunteered for the SBXL right here in Detroit! I had a blast & MY feet were on Ford Field during the game!! It was great here's some pics: .... Actually, it will be much easier to have a link to the pics so it's along the left hand side =========> Well, I guess that would make it the other left eh?
Mooch, You're fired! And take your stinky 'playbook' with you. Especially the passing for 5 yards on 3rd and 8. Although I have personally fired you a few times, it didn't seem to have any clout, but it's now official! About time Matt!!
Dick Jauron will take over as interim head coach and attempt to breathe some life into this team. Jauron's first act as coach was to announce Monday practices if the Lions don't win on Sunday.
If the offense doesn't score more than 7 points on Sunday. The offense will have to go through a spanking line with the defensive players holding the paddles. Dre Bly will be waiting at the end of the line to impart Blyism 101: The Art of believing your own PR about how good you are.
Additionally, the number of times Joey is hurried or sacked will be how many times the offensive line shall be used as tackling dummies by the defense. Dre Bly will quiz them on his stats, wrong answers will be met with a clonking over the head with his cast.
Finally if a pass is dropped the offender will spend a mandatory hour for each drop listening to Joey play his piano, at which time Joey will simultaneously spit champagne in their faces screaming, 'How's that for Champagne Joey huh? How you like me now? Huh?!'. Dre Bly will be lying on the piano writhing in ecstasy over his Pro Bowl appearance.
There was a very friendly
debate at work today between me, Dutz, BaBaBaBooey, Gooch, Stubby and the English Cop (hahahaha). Millen seems to be taking a huge amount of blame for the Lion's woes.
For example: Millen doesn't know what he's doing, he was a football player & commentator. So I asked Gooch if he thought he could do a better job, I'll let you take ONE guess on what his answer was. Funny how ALL of us think we could do a better job with absolutely no experience in the NFL, but we rip on Matt because he doesn't have 'experience'.
Overall I like what Millen has done with the defense. And I really believe most of the pieces are in place on the offense. He did a great job of getting Woody and Pollard to join the offense. I think the only real bust is Chuck Rogers.... oops and Mariucci. But I distinctly remember everyone hoping that the Lions would for ONCE get a real coach and that coach was Mariucci. Hindsight and all that, so we should give Matt the same leeway.
I made fun of Chuck Rogers for being confused and I now apologize. Because under Mariucci's tutelage apparently EVERYONE became confused including the fans. I've never seen THIS much dissension on a football team. Hell even the Viking's Loveboat (although very bad for PR, and not PC at all) didn't create a split the way Mooch did here by lambasting Joey at every chance, making the rookies think it wasn't them it was Joey.
And make no mistake, once Mooch started pointing the finger at Joey it became Harrington season and almost everyone threw on the orange vests and took their shot, if only to deflect the scrutiny of their own sub-par performance.
As you all know from reading my blogs I have NEVER been a Joey supporter. I'd like to thank Mariucci for changing that. If nothing else (and that remains to be seen) Joey has carried himself with quiet dignity and held himself to a higher standard than those around him. In the face of all the BOO's and teammates ignoring him and being benched he has NOT quit on the Lions. And for that (along with the fact that Dick Vermeil wants Joey) I am firmly entrenched on the Joey bandwagon. I may even stand when he is introduced next week. sniff sniff We all need to repay that dedication.
I believe that Millen had a very different vision of what he wanted the Lions to become and Mariucci was just to freaking stubborn to think outside of his shitty west-coast offense. I think where the blame really falls on Mooch, is when he came to interview knowing that Harrington was the golden boy. Mooch should have declined the job right there and then instead of trying to destroy a promising young career.
But hey who can turn down all those millions of dollars? I think Mooch came in here blowing smoke up Millen's ass and Millen returned the favor today.
Good Riddance Mooch, Peace be with you and whatever poor team you sucker in next. I'd say I'm going to miss you but I'm not a liar. Maybe Garcia will give you a ride out of town. Oh wait, I'm sorry... wasn't that Jeff on the radio earlier today saying that even though you are a great guy, it's really more important to have your team respect you than like you. Mariucci season has now officially opened folks... Everyone jump off the Mooch Love bus quick!!
By the way.. Hey Dre...
You have grown on me, and although I'm still not convinced of your greatness at Corner, I am convinced that you are exactly the type of personality every team needs. T.O. who? You go on with your bad self, clonk you some o-line pansies, and pad your stats all you want. You're so vain, you probably think this blog is about you, don't you? don't you? Aaaaaaah, well I guess part of it is and in jest cuz I know you can take it and even laugh about it.
Oh and one other thing that's good about Mariucci getting fired is that I won't have to listen to his wife or daughters(?) call the radio stations anymore pretending to be fans, making the rest of us girls that really like the sport look bad.
I wasn't at the game but I managed to get a picture of Mariucci coaching in typical fashion on the sidelines.
How many different ways is there to blog The Lions SUCK!!? Mooch is on the radio right now with his whiney, apologetic voice and I can't stand to listen to the freaking moron anymore!!!
Mooch told his team not to beat itself up over the loss because Mooch takes the resposibility for the loss, TOO LITTLE TOOOOOOOOOO LATE Mariucci!!! YOU SUCK ASS!! He sounds like he's going to cry like the whiney little BeYotch he is. You don't want the players to beat themselves up? And you sure aren't going to, then who should ASSWIPE? Nobody right? Oh, I'm sorry, you're shouldering the responsibility right? HOW? By giving everyone a free pass.
MILLEN!!! You better FIRE HIS ASS!
I love how Garcia came in after Mooch yanked Harrington and bombed! Hell, he threw at least 2 passes without even looking where they were headed. Gosh Darn IT Mooch, you played your ace in the hole and it wasn't good enough. You've got nothing left. Take yourself, Garcia and your shitty west-coast offense and get the hell out of here!!
The Lions beat Arizona. It was a very lethargic game from the stands. I think everyone (the fans) really took a good thump after losing to Chicago AGAIN last week, because the fans just didn't have it in them this week.
WELCOME BACK ROY... Roy Roy Roy!! I never gave up hope, and it's damn nice to see the guy that made us all sit up and notice last year make a comeback!!
So the game was pretty boring, a lot of fans left at half time, we left with like 5 minutes left and much of the stadium was already cleared/clearing out. We could be looking forward to an upset at Dallas, but that heckuva coach Mooch, gosh darn it just had to go and CREATE controversy!! Well Steve, you're a heckuva guy and we love you gosh darn it but take your stubborn dumb ass to some other city! YOU SUCK MOOCH!
Harrington will not be starting against Dallas if Gacia feels he's healthy enough. Nothing like killing the freshly laid continuity 'Coach'! I'm really starting to believe that Mooch is sabotaging Harrington just so he can be 'right' and that is just immature. I hope that Millen is starting to realize what a mistake he made in bringing his pal over. San Fran fired him for a reason, just ask Jerry Rice.
Not only is Mooch going doing his best to f*ck up Harrinton, but he's also started in on Kevin Jones. KJ can't catch?? Well hell *NO SHIT* that's why he's a RUNNING BACK. Not a wide receiver! Oh, and wasn't that Bryson that dropped the next pass?! Why in the hell did you DRAFT THREE 1ST ROUND WIDE RECEIVERS if you aren't going to pass to them (because they're too far away after 7 yards) when you had 3 freaking RUNNING backs that you wanted to throw to???!!!!! F*CK! Mooch must be partying with Chuck too much and killing all his damn brain cells. Helllloooo, does this make sense to ANYONE out there??!! Why even have wide recievers??!! Geez it's like going to a dentist to get your tonsils yanked out.
If you really want to pass to a running back try using your TIGHT END dumbass!! Oh wait! He dropped a ball too! Never mind.
In an interview when asked about his 3 back 'system' and why he can't give the ball to KJ 20-30 times. Mooch responded that KJ was a "good back", Toose "deserved" to play, and that Bryson was "worth his weight in gold".
Huh? There's a typical Mooch response in trying to build the self-confidence of his young studs. Maybe Chuck Rogers wasn't so wrong after all when he stated that he didn't know what his role was. Because I'm sure Joey & KJ are probably going to be hitting the ole' bong (allegedly) themselves after another year with Mooch. Hell, I can't stand pot and I'M about to toke on a big fattie!!
When pressed on the issue, Mooch wasn't budging. KJ will NOT be getting the ball more. ARE YOU READING THIS MILLEN?! Here hit this, you'll feel better.
KJ's dad actually called into the local radio station after the game and you could just hear the frustration in his voice also. He said that he felt bad and he don't mean to be no trouble-making father, but Mariucci doesn't know what in the hell he's doing. I can just picture the conversation over the turkey at that house this year.
The Ford's let Barry wither & die in the Fontes years and if Millen won't do anything I hope they stand up and get rid of Mooch before we end up watching Joey & KJ celebrating a Superbowl win next year with Dick Vermeil and the KC Chiefs.
There's a wee little bit of my mind that is wondering if Garcia is REALLY THAT hurt? So much so that he won't play. I'm wondering if perhaps after being in Joey's shoes for a couple of games, if he isn't just purposely taking a bit longer to heal to give Joey his chance to prove himself.
Garcia KNOWS the issues aren't ALL Joey's fault, and he also know that once he goes back in, Joey done in Detroit. From the little I've heard of Garcia and from listening to him on the radio, he seems like a guy that would do something on principle and I think he might just do it. If so, nice move Garcia!!
HEY!!! GARCIA for head coach!! hahaha, wouldn't that be the ultimate irony!! BEAUTIFUL!! Start the petition someone!
Okay, so I was going to post earlier in the week, but - well, I just didn't feel like it since my real job is sucking the life right out of me but there were too many things that happened this week to just blow it off - In my opinion, of course:
The Monday after each game there is an interview with the QB on 1270 am, not sure what their moniker is (obviously nothing catchy like DaFaN). On top of that they would have an interview with Garcia, because he was so open and honest and a great person to get the dirt from. I believe much of the Joey 'Blue Skies' opinion came from these interviews. And quite frankly I've never seen why people had such an issue with him thinking positively, being an optimist myself. OH and then I found out Joey was a Libra (like myself) so now his attitude makes even more sense to me.
Regardless, Garcia would come on the show and it was no holds barred. He called people out, he was aggressive, his tone of voice oozed confidence. That all changed the Monday after the Chicago game. He was a beaten man, and it only took two games. It was GREAT!!
When he was asked what the problem was he suddenly developed the Lions stutter, that is so freaking irritating. The defeat in his voice was palpable. I sat there wondering why all of a sudden he's not calling people out, sure he threw an interception and took responsibility for that, but where were his comments about the others on the offense? I had a flashback to the movie Any Given Sunday and suddenly it made sense to me. Although I think it was the 'STAR' running back in the movie, when the line stopped 'liking him' they let the defense come through to pound his ass. Now the offensive line has been compared to a screen door, so you certainly don't want to give them any additional reason to leave the screen door open.
How much does it suck to have to depend on players that are a bunch of mewling kittens? I've bitched about the attitude of these offensive (literally) players and their 'don't be mean to me, it hurts my feelings, I'm a grown man (love that one...hahahaha) and I don't need anyone reprimanding me' shit.
Grown man my ass!!! Real grown men can take well-deserved and honest criticism and...
*** NEWSFLASH*** OMG, the announcer on the field for FOX was just asked if Joey won his job back and before he would answer he made it a point to put on sunglasses - sheesh!
...Real grown men will take responsibility and step it up!! Apparently most of this offensive (literally) litter is still looking to suck on the tit of the coach and Mariucci is more than willing, and actually enjoys the feeling of being so needed. It definitely seems to be a pack mentality as Dominic Raiola confirmed during his interveiw today by saying:
'if I make a mistake, I know it, I make adjustments and I don't like getting called out on it, most of the guys on the offense are like that.'
Thank GAWD for Kevin Jones and for Joey Blue Skies (yes that came out of my mouth Stefani). KJ was that one kitten that was off scampering on his own, exploring, making mistakes but forever moving towards his independence. Going up to the meanest, baddest animal around and swiping at them, and we all love that little fucker don't we!!
Marcus Pollard is like the older sibling sitting around watching the litter and just shaking his head, thinking Millen should've picked a better bitch for this litter.
Roy - Roy, Roy, Roy was also like that his first year, before the litter dragged his ass back down. Cory Schlesinger is somewhere in between. Cory has also stated that he doesn't like being called out, thankfully-he's so good and has enough pride in himself that getting called out just doesn't happen.
Speaking of attitude (as I always do), I was explaining my 10% theory to Gooch and being the Cleveland Brown guru that he is, had to agree with me, although he said it was more like 5%. I'll try to be succinct for all you ADD friends.
To get to the NFL your skills have to be (using Gooch's percentage) in the 95-100 percentile of college players. Using that logic, there is only 5% seperating the best of the best from the worst of the best. That's really not a lot. So give me someone at 95% with the heart and attitude to play than someone at 100% with just their skills.
Enter Scotty Vines buh-bye Chuck Rogers. Hope the millions you made is enough to sustain you, maybe you could go to Miami and see your 'BUD' (hahaha) Ricky Williams and lament the unfairness of it all while scrutinizing Rush and The Beatles album covers, covered in a comforting blanket of ding-dong wrappers. More power to you guys. See YA!
Bobby Ross, a coach I happened to really like, threw his hands up in disgust with this team and it sounds like Jeff Garcia did the same... Ooops I mean he's injured. But Garcia sure as hell lost the enthusiasm he had after having the #54 surgically removed from his skin after the Chicago game.
I think Roy's time off may have been good for him. I think his just being away from the runts of the litter and hearing his quotes repeated in the media will shake those cobwebs loose from his head and he'll remember the superstar he was his first season and the fact that he actually LIKED Joey.
This is why I say thank gawd for Joey Blue Skies. AND in his last interview when asked about starting against Minnesota he said something along the line of, 'It was good to go out on the scout team, it made me get back to the love of the game and having fun. I'm going to open it up against Minnesota and go downfield and have fun and win a game, and if I don't.... oh well, what are THEY going to do? Bench Me?!' Way to go Joey, FIGHT THE MAN!! Or go down on your terms. And I'll say it for you, F#CK YOU MARIUCCI. There all better now.
I think we're going to win today (slight shadow of foreboding, but I'll ignore it - being Doll Blue Skies and all) I expect Joey to go to Vines and Pollard a lot. I think Roy will step it up and Cory & KJ will be stellar as usual. Oh and Raiola from the Clevelands Fans and myself to you, 'F#ck YOU BeeYOTCH'
**KICKOFF** Go LIONS
In a shocking development just announced Steve 'Mooch' Mariucci was fired from his position as the Detroit Lions head coach by Matt Millen. Matt Millen named the former Pro Bowl Lions offensive lineman Lomas Brown as Mooch's replacement.
Brown said, he can't wait to get his new team on the practice field. The practice field is where you create good habits. If you drop a ball in practice or miss a block, you're gonna run your ass off, and not just jog, but run your ass back to the huddle because the time clock's running!!!
Brown's first act as head coach was to suspend Roy Williams for refusing to get his ass on the field on 4th and eight, saying that he didn't feel like it. Lomas Brown said, "I'm disturbed by this!..."
***POP***
Oops, did I say that out loud?? Guess I need to keep my fantasy's to myself.
Well we can only hope. Why NOT Lomas?
Lomas - Lomas - Lomas!!!!
Mariucci Sucks!
The Lions Suck!
The Bears Suck!!
Chicago Fans Suck!
Lions Fans are WAY TOO freaking nice!! And that sort of SUCKS!!
What really SUCKS is that the freaking Lions shouldn't SUCK so much!
It SUCKS to sit in the stands and ALMOST get into a brawl with chicago fans while defending our Lions. It SUCKS even worse to have to walk out hanging your head in shame for believing that the Lions will win! IT SUCKS!!!
2 good things came out of this SUCKY ASS loss. 1) I got really drunk and learned all about a new sport being played at bars called "Butt Quarter's" 2) It's not the freaking QB dumbasses! To put it very simply for even the most hard cored dumbasses out there, ponder this Logic:
- Dan Marino, one of the greatest QB's ever HAS NEVER won a Superbowl....
- Trent Dilfer, one of the worst QB's ever HAS won a Superbowl
I'm telling you the real eminem could do just a good of a job with no experience coaching as the M n' M we currently have, hell get the Burger King dude in here, he'll at least creep the hell out of the other teams. The only thing saving Millen in my eyes are his defensive picks. Considering he's a manager, I think he's doing the right thing... picking guys on defense (something he knows a lot about) and letting his QB guru handle the offense - Unfortunatley Mariucci doesn't know what the hell he's doing. Millens' at fault for bringing on a bud, but then again maybe Millen fell for the QB guru shit too and now he's stuck with having to fire a friend. That SUCKS, oh well, too SUCKING bad, just do it SUCKER!
GAWD THIS SUCKS!!!!!!
Lions vs. Browns - QB Position wasn't the only thing stolen
Cleveland Rocks, my ass! But our seats at Browns Stadium sure as hell rocked!! My first away football game, and my first outdoor football game. Other than getting our car broken into and a bunch of stuff stolen, it was a great experience! This view is from section 146 row 2, bought them on eBay for a great price.
I DID wear my Shaun Rogers jersey and only got, "F-U Bitch" twice, and considering the look of some of those DAWG Pound fans - I got out virtually unscathed. For all you men with hair on your back - GET RID OF IT or hide it, dawg pound fan or not... and PLEASE, PLEASE leave your freaking tshirt on to spare the rest of us. It's about as appealing as Madonna with braided armpit hair. Woof woof woof.
But on to the game, you all know the chorus - 'Nah nah nah nah, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, Goooood-Bye'. Nice knowing you Joey hope Dick Vermeil still wants you because, if I had to guess, I'd say you're done in Motown. Garcia saved Mooch's job and invigorated not only the Detroit football fans but even Raiola was gushing his praise. I swear, when I was listening to Raiola talking about Garcia
it was almost embarrassing. If I were Jeff, I'd be a bit more careful about walking around without any clothes on in front of him.
But I guess it's only to be expected considering Garcia made Raiola look slightly better, and probably saved his job too (for the time being anyway) cuz he still sucks! Oh and for those of you that were watching the game on t.v. and remember the close-up of Raiola looking back at the crowd all hyped up and yelling, he said, "F**K YOU Bitches" at least 2 or 3 times to the Cleveland fans. At least I think it was the Browns fans, I think if he knew it was me up there, he'd probably run up and try to tackle me, but luckily he SUCKS and would miss...hahahhaa. Too bad the ref's didn't hear him and eject him from the game ala the Ravens game in Detroit. Where's the famed 'throwing of the dog bones' as advertised?
Garcia got the job done. I love his mobility and he actually dove head first into the end zone for a touchdown, everyone has to respect that. Although I don't think Garcia is as great as Mooch would like us all to think. I think with the defense playing the way it has, along with Cory's return and Garcia's ability to NOT get sacked it will be enough to take the Lions to the top of the NFC North. He's definitely more exciting to watch than Joey, and he adds enough attitude and competitiveness for even the defense to take notice. If Joey had been the QB we would have lost, Joey would have run toward the end zone and fallen down at the 1 yard line. And THAT is the only skill difference I could see, because Garcia's passing game was on par with Joey's. When he threw the really crappy passes it gave me a chance to boo, and somewhat endear myself with the dawggies that were closing in on us.
To Art Regner and whoever is on with him at 1270.... Pffft! Shaun Rogers is way more important to the defense than Dre Bly!! Having just torn my ACL, I feel your pain Big Baby! Heal fast and get your butt back on the line, we need you!
Overall, I didn't see much of the game because I was out till 4 a.m. the night before, bit the dawg that bit me...hahaha, so my first beer at the game kicked my buzz right back in from the night before and I spent most of my time trying to defend myself from Browns Fans. Every time I cheered for the Lions - Mr. 'You're lucky I'm married' would come down to my row and tackle me to my seat. We were actually on national tv & I looked like shit. Murphy's law for sure!
To all the hot guys I met Saturday night at Fusion, thanks for the dances - I had a sweaty blast!!! Mr. 1999 I'm not going to be able to come back for your party unfortunately.... Scary Ref, what the hell happened to you? Everyone thinks I 'got rid' of you, hope you're okay. And Deep (however you spell it), I'll look you up when I'm in New York. Hmmm, I guess Cleveland did Rock after all
Joey Harrington aka Mooch's Sacrificial Lamb - Rant Completed (for this week)
I'm not going to bother too much with what happened at the game, there's too much crap going on in 'the media' that's really irking me and I just must vent about it. But first some excellent news... I got my S Rogers jersey... I had to special order it in a youth size, but the price was pretty good and I got to debut it at the Carolina game. Which was a great time to do so, because not only did he get a sack, my man Shaun blocked a field goal attempt and was just awesome all around. Which enabled me to stand up in the stands pointing out the fact that I'm smart enough to buy a non-cornbread jersey - heh. Way to go Shaun - You ROCK... So do you Kenoy. The defense ROCKED overall, I've even gained some 'like' for Dre Bly, if not for his playing ability (yet) - definitely his attitude.
So last I heard Mooch still doesn't know who is going to be the starting QB against Cleveland.
Follow the Logic of why we still don't know who is the starting QB at Cleveland:
- Mooch has never liked Joey, and brought Garcia in asap.
- Mooch blames Joey and has absolutely no concept of team, by ignoring the needs on the offensive line and drafting three 1st round wide receivers <-- BAD Logic
- Joey has had absolutely no protection, and plays like any QB that doesn't have protection on just about every damn down.
- Everyone... even Dutzy and my brother, Pete... want Garcia to play. Believe me for those two to give up on Joey is HUGE!
- Mooch knows he is treading water now, his only way to avoid getting his ass canned is by pointing his finger at Joey. He's done that so well and quickly - as a matter of fact he'd take Clint Eastwood down at noon for sure.
- Mooch has been intimating that Garcia is the next coming. Pfft. This alone should be enough reason for the Fords to can his sorry ass.
- Garcia is iffy but has taken half the snaps during practice.
- Garcia has been very outspoken about his desire to lead the Lions to victory.
- If Mooch starts Harrington & we lose he is going to be strung out for not playing Garcia.
- If Mooch starts Garcia & we lose (keeping fingers crossed on this one, cuz I love the very amusing Irony Fairy) it will prove two things - a) Garcia is not what Mooch portrayed him to be and b) It wasn't Joey after all. Either outcome would hang Mooch.
Conclusion: The Lions BETTER win no matter who the QB is. If Harrington plays and loses it will buy time for Mariucci who still has his ace in the hole ergo the confusion over who to play. If Mooch waits another week to play Garcia, Garcia will have Schlesinger back, who's blocking ability is sorely missed! And Roy & Charles will be back too, so it is in Mooch's best interest to wait to play Garcia. Who Mooch picks to start will be very telling. I say we send Mooch's ass packing and get Vermeil over here who has stated that he would love to work with Harrington. OR get rid of Harrington & Mooch at the end of the year and let the new coach pick the QB that he wants.
I can't believe I, of all people, am actually going to start defending Joey Harrington (because I really don't like non-linebacker type QB's) but... I am so impressed by his character. He has been dumped on by EVERYONE - literally! And to date I have not heard one negative remark out of his mouth. No finger pointing, no blasting other players or coaches, no ripping on the playbook. But you know what Joey, that may be exactly one of the reason why the fans have never quite embraced you here in DEEtroit.
Yet more Logic for Joey:
- Go to a voice coach or sit down with Saragusa and learn to get that whiney, apologetic pitch out of your voice - it SUCKS and it's almost painful to listen to. It makes people think you're a ghurly-man.
- You are a big boy 6'4" / 220. ACT like it! RUN for a FKING touchdown. HIT someone on the opposing defense instead of BEING HIT. You want respect, take out Ray Lewis while scoring a TD instead of making KJ try it 5 times. STEP it up big boy.
- It's great that you are stepping up and taking responsibility, but when someone (wide-receivers who haven't proven themselves) calls you out in the media, STAND UP for yourself man! Fight back, perhaps you should intern in corporate america for a summer to learn the proper political way to slam someone while sounding like you're taking responsibility - Roy Williams had the technique nailed down in his radio interview when he hammered you.
- If you can't get into a corporate situation, get on a pickup football league and play linebacker. Go out and sack some QB's for a feel for how it is from the other side. Actually this tip goes out to ALL QB's.
- Being a fellow libra myself, I understand the 'flies with honey' deal, but sometimes you need to pull out the damn Raid. Are you afraid if you point out the lack of blocking by your offensive line that they'll REALLY stop blocking for you (hahaha spit out my coffee) like it could really get any worse? Think about it Man!
- The next time Dre Bly comes over and gets in your face, KNOCK his ASS OUT! That alone would raise your manhood exponentially!!!
- You have taken the responsibility, ALL of it. Now DO something to change the situation. Do WHATEVER it takes. It's better to have people respect you than like you... Trust ME!
Reassembling the quotes IN CONTEXT:
- Now, I've heard plenty of interviews with Garcia. When asked if he would be the difference in the game at Cleveland, if he could take the Lions to the next level. Well this normally confident guy did a little word jig. 'Uh, well, there's are more problems than just the QB position' Looks like Garcia when faced with the possibility of actually starting is already in 'Save YOUR ass mode'. On a positive note, he did mention that the problems are NOT all Joey. Saying the only real difference is the experience Garcia has along with more mobility.
- Dominic Raiola (however you spell it) was not bitching at Joey during the game. He was pissed off because the sideline was not getting the plays out to the field fast enough. This caused them to burn those time-outs early. I want to know who in the hell that person on the sideline is. You're FIRED!
- Damien Woody was asked to name names. Who is playing up to par, to which he responded, 'I'm not naming names, you can't do that but I'll tell you numbers, #3 #11 #80 #88 #51 #76... oh nevermind, I can't name names' heh. You can do the research, but it looks like Woody is pretty much playing offense by himself with Jones & Pollard.
- Dre Bly said he was frustrated and the defense should suit up to play offense. Well Dre, hate to point out the obvious, but you guys already are and I share your frustration. But HEY! I'm all for it!!
Finally (I know I'm long winded BA BA BOOEY) But I
got a lot to share- roflmao.. anyway...
There has been much said about the split in the lockeroom between offense & defense. I believe it's more a split between the Warriors and the Whiney Beyotch's.
Team Warrior would include:
- Shaun Rogers (of course)
- Kalimba Edwards
- Earl Holmes
- Kenoy Kennedy
- Dre Bly
- Jason Hanson
- Kevin Jones
- Damien Woody
- Marcus Pollard
- James Hall
- And special recognition to R-Dub McQuarters who not only stepped up to return punts, but has offered to play wide-receiver. Mooch you should JUMP on that one, DumbASS!
Team Whiney BeYotch includes:
- Charles Rogers and his friend Mary Wanna (allegedly)
- Mike Williams
- Jeff Backus
- Dominic Raiola(however you spell it)
- Roy Williams
- Teddy Lehman - not 100% but I haven't seen anything out of him
- Hmmm, who else is a worthles whiney ass beyotch... oh yea...!
- Steve Mariucci - Mooch man
- Joey Harrington - only because for all his 'taking responsibility' speeches he's not taking the next step and forcing changes to whatever needs to be changed. JUST DO IT JOEY.
- Garcia, because he started playing the blame game before he even got a chance to get sacked a few hundred times.
Those that I've missed are obviously doing just enough to not be noted good or bad, which actually sucks in itself if you think about it.
I love winning! I love winners! I love competetiveness! I love true competitors! No PC here. It sucks to lose, it sucks being a loser, it sucks giving up no matter the odds, it sucks when you have to rely on people on your team that aren't giving it their all and they STILL get paid. All the truly great athletes have that quality. You can see it on their faces. And that is where the frustration is coming from. I'm bleeding blue & silver out here, what the HELL ARE YOU DOING? And that what we love about football. Our modern-day WARRIORS.
That's why football is REALLY America - not baseball, not basketball, not hockey... FOOTBALL - not to be confused with Soccer (The sport boys and girls play because they aren't good or big enough to play FOOTBALL.) But FOOTBALL! We want Russell Crowe rallying the troops (no whiney beYotch there) We want Mel Gibson in blue face paint.
Watch the movies again Joey. Rally the troops and FIGHT THE MAN!! Take charge, you have more power than you know. Tell Mooch to change the freaking "offense" or you are going to bench HIS ass! As a matter of fact tell him you're on the phone with Dick Vermeil who might be interested in coming over to Detroit once he wipes the tears off his face.
Failing that get me Ben Roethlesberger (however you spell it) or someone that looks like, can and WILL take out Ray Lewis when push comes to shove.
You read right, OFF WITH HIS HEAD... And I am NOT talking about Joey Harrington for once! Mariucci get the hell out of Motown! You, you're offensive staff, your offensive (literally offensive) playbook and your draft picks SUCK ASS! As Art said in response to a caller who asked why the offense couldn't use different plays when they saw the blitz coming, ' that would require some imagination' or something to that effect - hyuk.
I'm sick of your whiney ass voice and how you can't take any damn responsibility for the offensive problems. You fired Sherm Lewis last year, which coach are you going to sacrifice on the altar to the football gods now? Oh wait, you can't fire another one, so that's why you've been setting up Joey all year! You almost had me fooled!!
The damn west coast offense has no place in the midwest / rustbelt / black-n-blue division. Hey Matt Millen, get your head out of your nepotistic ass and remember who signs your paycheck and how the Fords get the money for your paycheck - It's us ... THE FANS... you owe us Millen. I remember how excited everyone was that you were hired because we would have a no-nonsense ex-linebacker, who had heart and wanted to win. Tell Mooch you love him and you can still be buds, but his ass is GONE! I'm sick of changing QB's every freaking year as I've repeated ad nauseam. NO ONE WANTS THE WEST COAST OFFENSE. And the damn draft picks AREN'T EVEN GEARED FOR THE FREAKING WEST COAST OFFENSE!! FK!! What don't you get?!
The one thing I do want to thank Mooch for is that I think that after this game he might have actually ... finally ... turned this into a DEFENSE town! More on that later...
I am officially & publicly turning in my 'Joey-Hater' card. Albeit he is not my preferred 'type' of QB, I have begun to actually respect the guy for his character. If we all stop to really think about this team, it seems that everyone is slowly imploding, including coaches except for the one who, by all rights, should have probably called it quits on this team last year, Joey Harrington. Go ahead and call him Joey-Blue-Skies, at least he's got the balls to keep getting up only to be punished over and over again by the likes of Ray Lewis and Julius Peppers, but to name a couple of punishing linebackers. Guess, you'd HAVE to have a positive outlook to think that things are going to actually get better. To imagine...
...That Joey might actually get more than 2 seconds from the snap to throw the ball, that Kevin Jones might have a hole every once in a while to run through or at least get have time to get back to the line of scrimmage. I would like to hear Damien Woody's opinion of his line, when there wasn't any media around.
Besides Steve 'it ain't my fault' Mariucci
I'd also like to thank Roy 'don't tell me when I mess up' Williams
for all the positive PR you're giving Joey by being such an ass in the media. Hey Joey, obviously you aren't being respected for having class & character, so the next time one of your FIRST ROUND DRAFT PICK WIDE RECEIVERS don't catch the ball, call a freaking press conference. Maybe you could buddy up with Kenoy and have him put a hurt on those boys next time they drop 'em, or run the wrong route, or get the munchies during a route, or can't come up with a decent play. Yea, OFF WITH THEIR HEADS, and Kenoy's just the one to do it!...
... More on the actual game today later..
M&T Bank Stadium after the Cleveland Browns...OOops, I mean the Baltimore Ravens absolutely ImpLOdeD!! Even Steeler fans were cheering!!
Strangely, that's how my head felt all day Sunday too, as I was out till the wee hours of the morning getting my Nine Inch Nails fix. Which also explains why this post is soooo late, I do believe all of the Jagermeister has finally left my blood stream and I am semi-sober again. Another great celebration of my personal new year!
Ooops, so anyway..... What a great game. The Ravens did a great job of getting the fans into a chanting frenzy of 'nah, nah, nah-nah ** nah, nah, nah-nah, HEY hey hey GOOD-BYEEEE' and hand waving, as player after player was penalized and ejected from the game. We even had the wave going, and got to call fans 'murderin' (alleged, yet not guilty) losers' and Kevin Jones even managed to mock him in the endzone, hyuk... I love that boy!!
Fans around us were shockingly amazed and literally laughing out loud over the antics displayed by the Ravens. Although everyone felt the Joey fumble was iffy, we all KNEW that there was NO WAY a touchdown was going to get reversed 2 weeks in a row.
Alas, once again the Lions D gets no respect. It seems to me that if the other team is getting a bunch of holding calls it's because they can NOT stop our Defense so they HAVE to hold them, right? right! Way to go DEFENSE I love you and I think you guys ROCK. I'll even give props to Dre Bly who after missing his tackle managed to run back into the runner and bump the ball out of their hands for a fumble. Hey whatever works and the football gods were definitely on our side for once
The offense was lackluster, and really, if it weren't for the Raven self-destruction the game would have been quite boring! Another thing that bothers me about the lack of respect for our defense is how everyone manages to think our opponents are simply having a bad game because of how many turnovers they are having, never considering that perhaps our DEFENSE is forcing those turnovers.
Before I address the public outcry for not giving the ball to Kevin Jones 30 times during the Tampa game, I wanted to quickly mention that I saw Charles 'Chuck' Rogers hanging out with his buddy as we were walking in and although I didn't get C. Rogers in the frame, I did snag a pic of his best friend
funny little fellow, huh? I figure the whole reason Chuck was not giving it his all was because he would start fantasizing about a Big Grab of Doritos with a side of ho-ho's in the middle of his route, and really who can blame him?? Give up millions of dollars for some good laughs and a ton of Dolly Madison snack pies, Hell Yea!!
As far as Kevin Jones only getting the ball 12 times Sunday against Tampa, the Lions only had their hands on the ball FREAKING THIRTY-NINE (39) times until the last drive of the game. The problem is 3rd down conversions, and the play calling. I think it really does come down to the coaches among other things. I still contend that most of it has to do with attitude. I've heard a few interviews on the radio with Lion's players and they seem to fall into 2 camps. One group does not want to be called out by their teammates when they fall short (C. Rogers, R. Williams and sadly C. Schlesinger) the other group (K. Jones, M. Pollard, D. Woody) who give it their all, are going to speak up when they feel like their teammates aren't. God Bless you men, it's about time someone holds these professionals accountable!! Now who is going to hold the draft pickers and coaches accountable. Someone really needs to put the screws to Mariucci and ask him why in the hell he has so much money invested in an offense built for the long passes when he doesn't have a damn play in which to use it!!
By the way Kwamee and the city of Detroit, YOU SUCK for the cheap stunt you pulled with your abandoned city lots!! We are no longer allowed to park there... Well we can but we get a $30.00 parking ticket. Seems like some type of fraud going on there, but I guess Kwamee needs more money for his 'alleged' hooker parties. You SUCK Kwamee, hmmmmmm, maybe you could be the Ravens new mascot as you'd be a perfect example of a human implosion. If Detroit votes you back in as Mayor they get what they deserve.
