Detroit Draft Day: Lions Picking (OMG).. It's SIMS.. Thank GAWD!
I'm so scared... lmao. Everyone is talking about QB's ... I'm cringing, ready to report.....
OMG here we go.. it is Ernie Simms LINEBACKER!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOFKNHOOOOOOOOOO
The hosts on ESPN; "A little out of control, a little undisciplined" "Hard hitter, have to worry about concussions" I LOVE it! Just how I love my linebackers described. Here is some more info:
And I even love his hair! Ernie Sims on players he emulates: "Derrick Brooks and Ray Lewis are pretty much it. I really like watching LaVar Arrington, too. I like the way he plays. Pretty much, any linebacker that plays with a lot of intensity, and is very aggressive, hustling to the ball a lot. I like watching Brian Urlacher play, too. Those are the type of guys that I love to watch."
What else do we need to know?
Fkn Green Bay! No Hawk for Detroit
So Mariucci got canned and the media & fans that fall under the category of aka 'sheep or lemmings' wailed, (yea, yea I know neither animal wails, but you get my drift). Our new coach... Rod Marinelli and I love him!! He actually confirmed one of my earlier blogs about....
Fkn Raiders!! They took Huff (o crap) Millen don't you dare take fkn Leinart!
... how winning is more than about talent, especially in the NFL, since in my opinion anyone that makes it to the NFL is already in the top 90-95th percentile, so to quote Marinelli (by the way GREAT JOB MILLEN!)
Marinelli said. "Everybody's got talent. The issue is how hard are we willing to play. Fundamentals. Details. And learning to fi nish everything we start as a football team. None of that takes any talent. It's just a collective attitude of men who want to go to work."
The fact the Lions have been among the dregs of the NFL this 21st Century leaves him unfazed.
"You can make this team right now better," Marinelli said, "if you play harder than you've ever played in your life, you understand details, you stay on the details, and you know what to do. You'll start learning to finish every snap, every rep in the weight room, every practice, every detail.
"Those things, you can grow. And if you've NOT done that well enough and you start doing it, you're better. You start improving immediately because we have talent. Talent is not going to be the issue in this league all the time. It's the talent that plays good."
FINALLY! Someone who understands the non-tangibles!!
Harrington is for all intents & purposes gone, due to his own unwillingness to commit, according to Marinelli. And well, Good Luck Joey, may you land somewhere that has a coach that gives you a chance unlike the spineless, 'it's not my fault (pointing fingers) it's Joeys' Mariucci.
The ONLY reason I wanted Joey to stay is; Just to be able to say 'I told you so!'. I truly believe with Marinelli as head coach and now with the St. Louis guy (geez, can't remember his name) as Offensive coordinator we would have gone to the playoffs.
So far so good, I'm planning on going to Miami to volunteer for the 2007 Superbowl so I can watch the Lions win the damn thing!!! I love my rose colored glasses!!
Hi Everyone, sorry for the neglect - I guess all the lunacy surrounding the firing of Mariucci was just too much to deal with. Mob mentality sucks, but it's good for spin doctors I guess.
Admittedly, I haven't been paying too much attention to the off-season.
OH WAIT! I didn't tell y'all that I volunteered for the SBXL right here in Detroit! I had a blast & MY feet were on Ford Field during the game!! It was great here's some pics: .... Actually, it will be much easier to have a link to the pics so it's along the left hand side =========> Well, I guess that would make it the other left eh?
