Why I can't stand Peyton Manning & hope Urlacher kicks his Ass

I want Da Bears to kick Indy's Ass tonight. And ya' know it isn't so much that I want the Bears to win or the Colts to lose. I want Peyton Manning to lose, so you can add me to the 'hate 'im' in the love him or hate him column. As it seems that even Time Magazine ran an article on this phenomena.

Although, I love Urlacher Example and would love for him to win the Superbowl because he has earned it and for his passion and knowledge of the game; honestly, the idea of Chicago having bragging rights makes me nauseous! But....I would much rather have any team win the Superbowl rather than giving Peyton the satisfaction.

I love the fact that he has never won, and upon sharing my view that Peyton is way overrated with my mostly male co-workers, I come to find that I am definitely in the minority. Surprise, surprise... But I take that as a compliment because SOME of have to be able to think for ourselves!

I can't speak for the rest of the 'Peyton's Overrated' subscribers, but I bet that most of us loved Underdog as kids. We champion the long shot, the hard worker, the poor kid that had to fight his way to the top. Not only do we champion them, but we all want to see that poor kid yank the silver football out of Peyton's overrated hands!! And cheer with glee when he sits there with a dumbfounded look, muttering, 'but I'm SUPPOSED to win, I'm the chosen one, I'm the golden-boy didn't you know that Brian?'. Oh and let's not forget how Peyton displayed his stellar leadership after the Steelers beat them last year! When questioned about why they lost, good ole Peyton took one for the team and replied that HE (the golden-boy) didn't get the protection that Roethlesberger (or however you spell it) got. pfft. Hey Peyton, you wanna see protection, c'mon over to the Lions for a season, you damn pansy!

Now when I've shared my opinion, I ALWAYS hear... "OVERRATED? You think Peyton's overrated? That's why girls shouldn't watch football, are you smoking crack or something? What about Kitna, you think he's good?"

My simple and logical response. Switch Kitna and Manning last year. Do you think Peyton would be going to the Superbowl with the Lions??!! Not that I'm a big fan of Kitna's, but I think he'd have a better chance of making it to SBXLI with the Colts.

Hell, like I've been screaming for the past 3 years, Freaking Trent Dilfer has a freaking Superbowl ring. And he SUCKED! I remember watching Tampa play the Lions all those years and how horrible he was, it was usually the only team we could beat! (listen up Lions fans) it's not all about the QB, it's about the team and ask Trent about Ray Lewis and how important Defense is, along with his offensive line.

Which brings me back to the point at hand, Peyton Manning getting credit for everything from the Colts being a contender every year, to the commercials that are so popular. I can't stand seeing Peyton Manning's face on all those commercials. Are they funny? Yes, but they were funnier with Brett Favre (Monday morning quarterbacking, after the guy's groceries fall through his bag, "You should'a double bagged that, hehehehe" and they would be just as funny with Brian Urlacher. Come to think of it they would be even funnier with Jerry Rice, since he's funny and lovable to look at no matter what he's doing, especially dancing!! (Jerry you got robbed! sniff).

The only good thing about Peyton winning would be (as the Time article points out) that the onslaught of, 'Will this be Peyton's year' will finally, hopefully go away. Or better yet, Peyton will lose and John Madden will put him on the cover of Madden NFL - heh - Stick the ole' Madden curse on him and we won't have to hear about him anymore, that would be perfect!

It's the Damn Media!!

Before I do my yearly review, I have something I need to say... GO URLACHER, KICK PAYTON'S ASS!!

There, that felt good! Boy, it's been a while! I guess the bad season coupled with my first year of playing in a fantasy football league and trying to expand my digital horizons explains my lack of posts. OH! And let's not forget that I was in an exhaustive, nearly catatonic state for a while with all the personal and work stressors, but enough about what ails me and on to what ails the Detroit Lions.

It's the DAMN MEDIA!! Maybe not directly and of course we shouldn't trounce on our right to freedom of speech, so the blame also lies with whoever it is in the Lion's Organization that is basing their decisions on the DAMN Media!

I used to love listening to the radio shows after the Lions games because listening to the hosts lose it, somehow made me feel calmer. But now I realize that most of the hosts and most of the fans are a bunch of hypocrites, and hypocrites really irk me!!

Perfect Example 1:
One week they ('they' meaning radio show hosts and most fans) are complaining about the lack of discipline on the team and what a bunch of crybabies they are and Thank the Good Lord that Marinelli is known for teaching discipline; fans call, agree and add their examples.

The next week they are calling for the firing of Marinelli because he made them fly on a Friday for a Saturday game at Oakland - or something like that. 'What a brute Marinelli is, how dare he make those players suffer like that' comments were made by them ad nauseum! And they wonder why the players are such crybabies. Marinelli's reason? He wanted to see who would show up to play, who had the balls (so to speak) to suck it up and win.

Seriously! I mean seriously, give me a break, I've flown cross-country and have somehow managed to get my ass out and party all night, along with the next week day and night. pfft!

It doesn't just end there, I should actually start making a list and call them all out! Everyone is now bashing Martz, along with Marinelli and Millen. It's really pathetic, but fans need to remember that the talk show hosts are the ones CREATING the controversy... IT'S THEIR JOB! That's what they get paid to do, so the fans need to think for themselves and quit getting caught up in the hype.

No team is built up overnight, except for the NawLeans Saints of course, but they had over 50 new players on the team. Maybe Marinelli should do the same and wipe out whoever it is on that team that is bringing the rest of the crybabies out and making everyone a malcontent, even if it means I need to buy a new jersey...sigh!!

I believe in Marinelli and Martz and we as fans owe them a chance to build their team! Millen DID hire the right guys this time by following his gut instincts instead of listening to whoever it is that's been giving him the crap advice (which you all have loved at the time... damn hypocrites-jumping up and down cheering when they drafted Mike Williams last year at Shields Pizza... you know who you are).

Boy, I'm feeling the honolulu blue ROARing (heh) through my veins again, and I'll update more often.
